Christmas tree of the Republic of Khakassia: luxurious ethnics and pogo from beads
The decoration of the New Year tree of the
Republic of Khakassia emphasizes ethnic motifs, which can be traced in the
processing of leather, wood, metal and other materials.
Especially for the Christmas tree at VDNH, the
region's craftsmen made large solar gold and silver signs. The decoration is
complemented by a stylized ornament - Pogo - a traditional breast ornament made
in the technique of beadwork.
The purpose of the pogo is associated with an
important event in a person's life - marriage, creation of a family. Usually,
women embroidered pogo to their daughters before the wedding. But sometimes the
pogo was made after the wedding by a husband for his wife.
On the Main Alley of VDNH visitors are greeted by New Year fir trees, each of them representing a region of the country.
The RUSSIA EXPO is open from Tuesday through Sunday, Monday is a technical day. The most convenient time to visit is in the mornings and weekdays, but the exposition is open to everyone on weekends as well. All expositions and events are free of charge.
The image of the Northern Lights at the National Centre refers to the rich cultural heritage of the peoples of the North.
