Emerald heart of Siberia. Tomsk region
The
centerpiece of the region's composition is a stylized sculpture of a cedar cone
with four upward-facing hemispheres. They represent the four fundamental
directions of development in the Tomsk region: science, education, industry,
and culture.
Green is
the key color in the composition. It symbolizes the vast forest expanses of the
region, appears in the symbolism of the Tomsk coat of arms, and is the primary
color in the concept of the "Emerald Heart of Siberia" stand. The
cone symbolizes the heart of the green and coniferous forest-rich region, as
well as the connection between nature and industry. The cedars in the flowerbed
are a special pride of the Tomsk region.
The
composition also includes plants such as blue fescue (Festuca glauca), sedge,
and carlit blue fescue (Festuca gautieri "Pic Carlit"), which visually resemble
the mosses and tussocks predominant in the landscapes of Tomsk forests. These
plants are cold-resistant and maintain an attractive appearance despite weather
conditions. Moreover, they complement the architectural structure of the
composition, echoing the rounded shapes of the hemispheres. The grassy-sandy
color scheme chosen for the plants symbolizes the importance of nature and
ecology for the region.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
