The flow of life. Chuvash Republic
Chuvashia
presented the floral concept "Current of Life". The semantic center of this
composition is the elements of the republic's state flag — "Tree of Life" and
"Three Suns".
"Tree of
Life" is a sign taken from an ancient Chuvash runic script. Its silhouette
resembles the oak, powerful and durable, and revered by the Chuvash people. The
'Three Suns' emblem symbolizes sunlight, which gives life and protects
well-being.
The basis
of the composition are perennial and herbaceous flowering plants. Lobelia
erinus, Echinacea purpurea, Celosia paniculata, Helenium hybrid, Pyrenees
daisy. They cover the flowerbed with a golden airy canvas interspersed with
bright flashes, and symbolize the natural beauty of Chuvashia. And the blue
flower cover stands for the waters of the great Volga, the main river for the
republic.
One of the region's floral symbols is hops, or "khămla" in Chuvash. The hop vine is given on the Chuvashian coat of arms as an image of the traditional wealth of the Chuvash people. Growing hops from a green shoot to a mature cone is the hard daily manual labor. Therefore, each cone is worth its weight in gold and is called green gold.
