The gates of the Russian North. Kirov region
The central part of the exhibition is the "Gates of the
Russian North", the impersonation of one of the capital cities of Ancient
Rus. The idea is embodied in one of the fragments of the ancient gate. The
fragment itself is made as a mirror-like structure with carved elements which
take us from the present to the memory of the ancestors of Russian
architecture. The gate represents the endless experience of historical feats,
moving us in time from the past to the future.
The Kirov exposition consists of a dense planting of annual
and perennial plants and low-growing shrubs growing in the region. The floral
concept is presented in the form of seasonal plants, decorative grain plants
(fescue or wild rye), which en masse create the effect and general mood of the
plant material.
One of the plants of the flowerbed is oak sage (belongs to
Salvia genus), which is often called forest sage. This type of plant got its
name due to its frost resistance. Oak salvia is actively used in folk medicine.
It is a part of decoctions which are useful for treatment of such diseases as
cardioneuroses, stomatites and sore throat. However, salvia-sage has not been
recognized by the official medicine yet.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
