Rising sun. Republic of Mordovia
The
territory of Mordovia has three main types of landscapes: steppe, meadow, and
forest. Forests cover about a quarter of the region and are home to oaks,
ashes, maples, elms, birches, spruces, and pines. However, the republic can
rightfully be called a land of lakes and steppes as well.
The flowerbed at the Mordovia exposition conveys the natural diversity, rich cultural heritage, and unity of the ethnic groups. The image of the republic is represented as a rising sun, symbolizing warmth, kindness, and openness. The sunrise also signifies the beginning of development, bringing energy and hope for a bright future.
The
blooming lungwort, a decoration of Mordovia's spring forests, has been chosen
as the symbol of the republic for the RUSSIA EXPO. This valuable medicinal and
ornamental plant is an excellent early honey plant with many interesting
features. Lungwort blooms very early in our forests and has a long flowering
period. Even at the beginning of summer, you can find late-blooming specimens.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
