Green horizons. Moscow region
The Moscow region presented an exposition of rain gardens
titled "Green Horizons." The concept of a "sponge city"
involves designing urban spaces with surfaces that absorb water, with the
landscape's tasks including the accumulation and preservation of runoff, its
purification, and the prevention of floods and waterlogging.
One of the tools for developing an artificial ecosystem in
urban streets is the organization of surface water drainage using green
plantings and architectural-planning solutions: rain gardens, biofiltration
ditches, and slopes. Such solutions can be used in populated areas without
underground stormwater drainage and as a complement to existing underground
stormwater drainage.
The plants featured in the composition are characteristic of
the Moscow region. Each of them is grown in nurseries within the region. The
composition includes: moor grass, wood rush, hairy sedge, common valerian,
narrow-leaved willow herb (Ivan-chai), great burnet, common cottongrass, water
avens, moneywort, and bog iris.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8.
The RUSSIA EXPO concludes on July 8, and with it, the flower festival will also come to an end.
