7 December – the birthday of the Orenburg region
Today, 7 December, the Orenburg region celebrates its Region Day. This year marks 91 years since its establishment and 281 years since the creation of the historic Orenburg Governorate, which once existed on the territory of today’s Orenburg region.
"The Orenburg region is a land with a rich history and a unique culture. Millions of visitors to our stand at the RUSSIA EXPO have seen this for themselves. We are justifiably proud of the development of high-tech industry and of preserving our status as one of the country’s key granaries. Today, the Orenburg region plays a special role for our Motherland as a border region. Here, representatives of more than one hundred nationalities and two dozen faiths live side by side in harmony," said Governor of the Orenburg Region Yevgeny Solntsev in a comment to the press service of the National Centre RUSSIA.
He added that the people of the Orenburg region are confidently moving forward together, supporting cultural traditions and initiatives: "Unity and good neighbourliness are the defining principles of our relations. Visitors to the exposition ‘Journey Across Russia’ will be able to see this for themselves."
The National Centre RUSSIA invites visitors to make fascinating discoveries at the "Journey Across Russia" exposition. In the area dedicated to the Volga Federal District, guests can take a fresh look at the Orenburg region – its rich history, generous natural landscapes and modern achievements. And to truly feel the historical spirit of the Orenburg region, be sure to visit the Department Store. Here you will find one of the region’s warmest and most recognisable symbols – delicate down shawls and accessories.
The All-Russian Patriotic Forum is taking place at the National Centre RUSSIA from 7 to 10 December.
Cossack Ded Moroz from the Stavropol region arrived at the 'Winter Wizards' festival at the National Centre RUSSIA on 7 December.
