The opening ceremony of the III International Documentary Film Festival "RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes" took place at the National Centre
On February
21, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted the opening ceremony of the III
International Documentary Film Festival "RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes."
Guests of
the evening witnessed the premiere of the song "Kursk Front"
performed by fighters and veterans of the Special Military Operation from the
group "Novorossiya." The event also featured performances by the
girls from the Katyusha ensemble and the Bakhyt-Kompot rock 'n' roll band.
Additionally, the world-renowned neoclassical composer Igor Skvortsov presented
his new piece, "Lullaby for the Whole World." The audience was
particularly moved by the performance of six-year-old Yana Poluektova, who
traveled from Kizlyar to sing "My Dear Boys."
The
audience also attended the premiere of the war documentary "Island of
Faith" by RT filmmakers Olga Kiriy and Artyom Somov.
"At
war, no matter where you turn the camera, there is always drama, always a human
story. Despite the vast amount of content already filmed, we cannot stop.
Because many of our guys remain unknown, and we must do everything to preserve
their memory, as they are giving the most precious thing they have — their
lives," said Yekaterina Yakovleva, General Producer of the "RT.Doc:
Time of Our Heroes" festival.
The
festival program includes more than 70 films. These are works by war
correspondents from RT, Channel One, VGTRK, the Zvezda TV channel, the SPAS TV
channel, as well as independent filmmakers, including international authors.
The festival features documentaries from Italy, France, and the United States.
"Let’s
hope that our descendants will also watch these films and remember the true
heroes," noted Alexander Borodai, a member of the State Duma of Russia.
Simultaneous
film screenings of the festival are being held with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo
in 21 countries, including Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Egypt, Zambia,
India, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, China, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Palestine,
Peru, Serbia, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and South Ossetia.
The International
Festival "RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes" brings together documentary
filmmakers, war correspondents, artists, poets, musicians, and public opinion
leaders on its platforms. The festival program is united by a common idea:
"This is the time of heroes. This is our time."
Students of the "Young Tour Guides School" recorded a message to Russian cosmonauts, inviting them to the "Journey Across Russia" exposition.
