Unity of peoples: the view of the Head of Mordovia
Unity of peoples is not only about holidays and festivals; its nature is far more complex and multifaceted, noted the Head of the Republic of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov. In an interview with the Press Office of the National Centre RUSSIA, he presented his personal interpretation of the idea of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
"Unity means that under no circumstances can we be divided, set against one another or broken apart. It is not only about holidays and festivals. Unity reveals itself in the most difficult situations. It is the response of peoples, their coming together, as it was during the Great Patriotic War. It is the unity that the people demonstrate today in supporting the special military operation, our President and those engaged in combat operations and, finally, in the way our home front is working now. That is where unity lies," Artyom Zdunov explained.
At the same time, according to the Head of the Republic, national unity also has another equally important component. It is impossible without preserving and developing the unique traditions of the peoples who inhabit Russia.
"There can be no unity if we do not develop the languages and cultures of the peoples that form part of our great Russia. That is why we are certainly engaged in this work: we share the experience of Mordovian culture and learn from others as we become acquainted with the traditions of our neighbours," the head of the republic added.
The Head of the Republic of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov, took part in the business programme of the region’s thematic days at the National Centre RUSSIA. He spoke about the key achievements and development plans of Mordovia up to 2030 and presented the republic’s investment, scientific, cultural and tourism potential.
Heroes today are not only defenders of the Fatherland, but also those who accomplish feats through daily work and service: volunteers, mentors and teachers.
