New Year tree of Dagestan surprised with its ethno-cultural richness
Items made
by craftsmen from all corners of the republic are used in the design: clay
vessels, vases more than half a meter high, copper jugs, ritual swords, horn
cups. Traditional ornaments of Dagestan carpets are presented on modern bags -
shoppers.
The decor
of the republic's New Year tree reflects the incredible ethno-cultural richness
of the region: representatives of over 30 indigenous nationalities, more than
110 nations live here.
The geographical position of the region also contributed to its development. Once one of the routes of the Great Silk Road from Asia to Europe passed through the territory of Dagestan.
This accelerated the economic and cultural development
of the region and turned Derbent into one of the centers of international
trade.
On the Main Alley of VDNH visitors are greeted by New Year trees, each of them representing a region of the country.
