The New Year tree of Kabardino-Balkaria is decorated with stylizations of jugs, ornaments of traditional felt carpets - kiiz, large pieces of decoration made of wild plants and straw.

 Geometric and zoomorphic designs predominate in the ornamental tradition of the region, but plant patterns are also common.

The main folk crafts and trades are ceramics, artistic processing of metal, wood, stone, and weaving.
