Nenets Autonomous Area presented a unique flower bed at the RUSSIA EXPO
23.05.2024
The "Future in Flowers" festival has begun at the International RUSSIA EXPO at VDNH (Moscow). Each of the country's 89 regions designed a flower composition reflecting the meanings, features, and traditions of their regions' vegetation.
The central part of the Nenets Autonomous Area’s floral exposition is spiraled, symbolizing the development of the region. In the center there are red flowers representing the red city — Naryan-Mar. White flowers symbolize the snowy winter, which lasts most of the year. Wooden figures of reindeer indicate that reindeer herding is the main agricultural sector in the NAA. Blue flowers symbolize the lifeline and main water transport artery — the Pechora River. A scattering of cloudberries and wild berries represents the richness of the tundra. The colors of the plants in the spiral smoothly transition into the tricolor, emphasizing the grandeur and unity of our country. The "Reindeer Antlers" ornament surrounds the composition, expressing the deep roots and traditions of the Nenets, reminding of the importance of preserving and respecting the cultural heritage of the North.
A stylized oil rig indicates that the region is rich in natural resources. Oil extraction is developing, new fields are being put into operation, and major investment projects are planned. At the same time, great attention is paid to environmental conservation. This idea is conveyed through vertical greening on the stylized oil rigs, showing the symbiosis of man and nature in the future.
The NAA floral composition speaks of achieving harmony between ecology and the economy, allowing the preservation of the region's natural heritage and the development of industry.
The "Future in Flowers" festival takes place in the open area of the architectural and park ensemble of VDNH — from the Main Entrance arch to Industry Square. The exposition features more than 100 landscape spaces from regions, federal ministries, and state corporations, with walking and lounge areas.
The RUSSIA EXPO runs until July 8, 2024. The Nenets Autonomous Area stand is located in Pavilion No. 75B. Operating hours: daily from 10:00 to 21:00, except Monday.
