The RUSSIA EXPO discussed key achievements and results of the transport industry development. The transport system of our country has been transformed over the past six years, said Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev. According to him, more than 119 thousand kilometers of roads have been repaired under the "Safe and Quality Highways" project. Moreover, during this time the large infrastructural objects important for the development of the country were created.

"First of all, this is the bridge crossing over the Kerch Strait, commissioned in May 2018. In 2019, the construction of the federal high-speed highway M11 "Moscow - St. Petersburg" connecting two of Russia's largest metropolises was completed. The construction of the M12 Vostok road from Moscow to Kazan was completed ahead of schedule. Bridge constructions have been put into operation in various regions of Russia: bridges over the Volga River in Dubna and Volgograd, over the Sviyaga River in Tatarstan, over the Zeya River in the Amur region and many others," said Vitaly Savelyev.

Speaking about the development of aviation, the head of the Ministry of Transport noted that in 2023 the volume of passenger transportation exceeded 105 million people, the industry is beginning to gradually recover. Russia has managed to maintain its air fleet - 1290 aircrafts. 1160 of them are passenger aircraft. Runways are being built and repaired in the regions, which contributes to the development of domestic flights, emphasized Vitaly Savelyev. The railroad is restoring pre-COVID indicators - in 2018, trains carried 1.2 billion passengers. Suburban rail transport is developing. In addition, the Eastern polygon is beginning to play an increasingly important role.

"At the end of 2023, we have reached the conductive capacity of BAM and Transsib in the amount of 173 million tons. This year we will fulfill the indicators - and it will be 180 million. In the long term, by 2032, the Eastern polygon will be able to carry 255 million tons in accordance with the decisions of Russian President Vladimir Putin," said Vitaly Savelyev.

Due to the support measures of the Ministry of Transport, the regions received more than 7.5 thousand units of public transport. Digitalization is the focus of the ministry's attention. In particular, existing systems - for example, GLONASS and FSIS "Taxi" - make transport safer.

"I would like to thank everyone involved in the work of the transport complex - builders, designers, drivers, engine drivers, captains and pilots, specialists involved in the repair and maintenance of transport infrastructure, its security, civil servants of the central administration of transport departments, as well as regions and municipalities, teachers and educators who bring up new personnel for us. I am confident that we will be able to cope with the new challenges and tasks that the transport industry will face," concluded Vitaly Savelyev.

The development of transport in Russia was discussed by heads of regions, experts and heads of transport companies. They spoke about the key achievements of the industry in their activities.
