The first All-Russian Wedding Festival at the RUSSIA EXPO will start with the largest mass marriage of couples from all over the country

On May 12, the first All-Russian Wedding Festival will start at the RUSSIA EXPO. The general partner of the festival is the Government of Moscow.

The opening of the festival will be marked by the largest mass wedding ceremony: more than 150 couples from all over the country will say "Yes!" to each other at the same time. At 14:00 couples accompanied by a gypsy music ensemble, accordionists, animators and circus performers will march in a mass procession from the Arch of the main entrance of the VDNH to the Main Street Stage of the RUSSIA EXPO, where the main event in their lives — the solemn wedding ceremony — will take place.

The hosts of the ceremony will be a married couple Alexei Chumakov and Yulia Kovalchuk, and the marriage will be officially registered by the staff of the Moscow Registry Office. The newlyweds will perform their first dance to Yulianna Karaulova's song "Out of Orbit". In addition, Irina Dubtsova will perform the anthem of the Year of the Family. Also, Polina Gagarina will perform for the newlyweds.

In addition, the newlyweds will be handed over the fire of the All-Russian Family Hearth "Heart of Russia", which was lit as part of the ceremony of the start of the Year of the Family with the participation of President Vladimir Putin.

"Moscow registry offices since 2019 hold solemn wedding ceremonies in the most beautiful places of the city within the framework of the project of the Mayor of Moscow ‘New addresses of happiness’. One of the unusual locations has also become the site of the RUSSIA EXPO," said Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

"The RUSSIA EXPO has become one of the main family places in Moscow and Russia: it was here that President Vladimir Putin launched the Year of the Family, and over 60 couples have joined their hearts during the time of the Exposition. That is why it is symbolic that for the first time such a festival is held here, at our Exposition," says Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the RUSSIA EXPO. The festival will last until May 19, she informed.

All federal districts will bring couples who will also get married at the RUSSIA EXPO during the week — more than 200 couples will join their hearts during the festival. "During the Festival at the Exposition there will be a festive atmosphere, a sense of new life, a new start. It will be possible to see wedding ceremonies according to the traditions of the regions, performances of creative groups from the regions of Russia, to take part in masterclasses, to learn new things at lectures," Anastasia Zvyagina said.

The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. Throughout the Exposition, cultural events, a rich business and educational program await the guests. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors. More than 12 million people have already visited the Exposition. The International RUSSIA EXPO takes place at VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to July 8.
