Visitors to the RUSSIA EXPO were taught how to paint a Dymkovo toy
The Day of Clay Toy was held at the RUSSIA EXPO at VDNH. Visitors could learn about clay toys of different regions of the country.
The Kirov region was represented at this holiday by craftswomen of Dymkovo toys. A variety of masterclasses were organized with the assistance of the Kirov region tourist cluster. Thus, children and adults made small souvenirs for themselves - painted wooden figurines with gouache and put the logo of the 650th anniversary of the city of Kirov on them. Natalia Sulimova, a representative of the tourist cluster, helped the guests.
There were traditionally queues at the stand of the Kirov region, because Dymkovo toys are known far beyond the borders of Russia, and recently experts have recognized it as one of the most attractive crafts of the Russian Federation.
"From the very beginning of the exposition, the Kirov region presented here all the folk art and crafts that have been preserved and continue to be supported on the territory of the region. Alexander Sokolov, Governor of the Kirov region, pays much attention to the development of folk arts and crafts, - said Alexei Cheptsov, Head of the Directorate for the preparation for the 650th anniversary of the city of Kirov. - At the exposition we regularly hold educational lectures, games with children to study the history and traditions of the Vyatka region".
Alexei Cheptsov noted that masterclasses on painting of Dymkovo toys that are recognized in Russia and abroad have become one of the brightest and most visited at VDNH.
The educational video project "8 Steps Across the Map of Russia" continues its journey through the pages of history.
The Open Lecture Hall "Inventing the Future: Ecotourism", an original project of the National Centre RUSSIA, will be held for the first time at the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye on Friday, 29 May.
The survey involved more than 8,000 people from over 50 regions of Russia.
