Representative of the Turkish diplomatic mission was given a tour of Bashkortostan's exposition
Rishat Khalikov, Acting Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Bashkortostan to the President of Russia, met with Günhan Emre Ersoy, Deputy Head of the Diplomatic Mission, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Russia, at the RUSSIA EXPO on Turkey Day.
Bashkir artists performed national Turkish dances and songs for the guest from Turkey, as well as gave a tour of the stand of the Republic of Bashkiria.
"Our bilateral relations with Russia are at a high level, they have a long history. And we continue to actively develop our cooperation," said Günhan Emre Ersoy.
Rishat Khalikov, Acting Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Bashkortostan to the President of Russia, said that the main ongoing project between the republics is Akkuyu, a nuclear power plant under construction on Turkey's Mediterranean coast.
"For the first time, 10% of Turkey's electricity will be supplied to Bashkiria. We are also actively developing bilateral cooperation in agriculture - we supply wheat," Rishat Khalikov noted.
Since 2020, a representative office of the Republic of Bashkortostan has been opened and successfully operates in the Republic of Turkey. In December 2022, Bashkortostan received diplomatic status and now the work is carried out as part of the Russian Trade Mission. In 2023, the trade turnover between Turkey and Bashkortostan increased by 111.7%. 11 export contracts worth over 315 million rubles were concluded. Turkish investors have launched a project to manufacture bridge and gantry cranes on the territory of Bashkortostan.
The growing cooperation between the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Turkey was reported by Margarita Bolycheva, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of the region.
"We see great potential in the development of foreign economic relations of our republic with Turkey, including in export supplies of products of chemical, petrochemical and woodworking industries, metallurgy and agro-industrial complex. Thus, according to the results of 2023, the Republic of Turkey ranks second among the countries-counterparts of the region in terms of foreign trade turnover with a share of 13.7%, while the index of exports from Bashkortostan to Turkey increased 2.2 times compared to 2022," said Margarita Bolycheva.
Officials from Turkey and Bashkiria also spoke about their impressions of the RUSSIA EXPO.
"It is very impressive! I congratulate everyone involved in the preparation of this Exposition and wish that the successes and achievements continue and multiply," Günhan Emre Ersoy emphasized.
Rishat Khalikov noted that the Exposition should be called grandiose.
"Only Vladimir Putin could come up with and suggest such a project! This is just some kind of national museum! And it is very important to us that Vladimir Vladimirovich believes that the Republic of Bashkortostan has always played a special significant part in life, history and destiny of Russia," he said.
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. More than 7 million people have already visited the Exposition. The International RUSSIA EXPO takes place at VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to July 8.
The first event to be held at the Russia National Centre, which is being established by the order of President Vladimir Putin, will be the International Science Fiction Symposium and Exhibition "Inventing the Future". The symposium will take place from November 4 to 6.
Tomorrow, the International RUSSIA EXPO will conclude its work. From November 2023 to July 2024, it was visited by more than 18 million guests.
