Bringing help closer to the patient: RUSSIA EXPO highlighted the achievements in healthcare
Neonatal
screening of newborns, artificial intelligence and preventive medicine - the
results of healthcare work over the past six years were presented at the RUSSIA
EXPO.
Opening the
plenary session, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova noted the
high results in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
Neonatal
screening of newborns has been launched in Russia - it allowed to identify the
risk of diseases in 23 thousand children, which makes it possible to offer
timely treatment. In 2023, 64% of adults and 96% of children up to 17 years of
age underwent physical examinations. This makes it possible to detect
hereditary and chronic diseases - including oncological, heart and vascular
diseases, and diabetes mellitus. In addition, specialized and high-tech
assistance is being developed.
"Over
the past six years, 6.5 million citizens have benefited from it - and these
figures are increasing. New types of high-tech assistance are emerging, and
those that have become routine are being incorporated into the compulsory
health insurance system," Tatyana Golikova said.
Also, in
two years the number of medical institutions with modern equipment for
rehabilitation has reached 700. 2.5 million people have undergone
rehabilitation. The development of the healthcare sector is facilitated by the
decisions of Russian President Vladimir Putin to create a national project on
new medical technologies and to extend the program for modernization of primary
healthcare, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed.
"Nothing
could be achieved if it were not for the consolidated work of our
professionals, medical workers, doctors, regions of the country, who are
actively involved in all areas of development not only in the national project
"Healthcare", but also in any activities of this industry, because
nothing is more important for a person than health," concluded Tatyana
Golikova.
There are
now nine federal projects in Russia, which cover the entire healthcare sector
as a whole - they provide for the training of highly qualified personnel,
digitalization of hospitals, fight against certain types of diseases and a
number of other areas, said Minister of Health of the Russian Federation
Mikhail Murashko. In particular, it became one of the factors that life
expectancy in Russia by 2023 amounted to more than 73 years.
Thanks to
the National Project "Healthcare", accessibility of medical care is
ensured in rural areas and in the most remote corners of our country. Modern
paramedic and midwifery stations (FAPs) are provided with the Internet access
and the necessary equipment. Unmanned technologies for the delivery of
medicines and tests are being approbated.
Since 2019,
more than 60 thousand people have been delivered by air ambulances to medical
organizations. In hospitals, waiting times in the emergency room are being
reduced, electronic medical history is being introduced, and artificial
intelligence is being used for routine processes.
New
oncology centers set the standard of equipment, and ambulatory oncology care
centers (AOCC) make it possible to bring medical care closer to the patient. A
new network of cardiological care - vascular centers and departments - makes it
possible to save the lives of people in critical conditions, and free medicines
minimize the risk of a repeated vascular catastrophe.
The country
is also developing its material and technical base in all areas - new paramedic
and midwifery stations are being created and mobile complexes are being
supplied. In particular, more than nine thousand ambulances were sent to the
regions, 79 polyclinics were built and almost 1.3 thousand were renovated. In
addition, specialized medical centers are being created in Russia, and the level
of prevention of disease recurrence is growing. There are plans to build eight
more oncologic dispensaries, 466 primary health care facilities, 10 children's
hospitals. At the same time, it is important that people themselves strive for
a healthy lifestyle, said the head of the Ministry of Health.
"All
of this is the material and technical base. It cannot move and develop in any
way if people themselves are not involved in it. Medical technologies help in
prevention, health maintenance and rehabilitation, but it is important that the
person wants to be healthy. And medical workers should prioritize this
direction. Creating conditions for a healthy lifestyle, creating motivation,
improving health literacy, and avoiding addictions are all ways to minimize the
risks of developing chronic diseases. Adherence to a healthy diet is also
important - obesity causes up to 30% of the risk of diseases, including
cardiovascular and cancer, which in turn are the leading causes of
mortality," emphasized Mikhail Murashko.
The Ministry of Health's official portal "So Healthy" offers advice on how to maintain your health and lead an active lifestyle. The materials were developed in cooperation with leading Russian healthcare specialists - they contain only reliable information confirmed by modern research.
During the plenary session, three medical centers in the Kursk, Altai regions and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic were opened live with the participation of regional heads. In addition, Tatyana Golikova and Mikhail Murashko awarded a number of regional health ministers for local primary health care modernization programs.
The performance took place as part of the international Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
One of the tracks of the Open Dialogue is "Investments in Human Capital." The pitch session on this topic brought together over 30 speakers.
One of the key topics for discussion within the initiative became "Investments in Connectivity," which attracted 24% of the essay authors about the future of the world.
