Past, present and future displayed in regional flowerbed expositions at the flower festival
The "Future in Flowers" festival continues at the
RUSSIA EXPO, where unique flowerbeds from all regions of our country can be
seen at the "Space" pavilion until July 8. The floral expositions
help visitors immerse themselves in the past, appreciate the achievements of
the present, and even glimpse into the future.
HISTORY THROUGH THE AGES: PSKOV REGION
"A people without knowledge of their past have no
future" — this quote serves as the central theme for the Pskov region's
floral composition. It's no surprise that historical and cultural tourism is so
popular in the region and continues to develop actively every year.
At the center of the exposition, guests can see the famous
Varlaam’s Tower — a five-layered structure representing the number of ancient
fortress towns in Pskov. Surrounding the tower are flowers typical of the
region, and nearby flows the Velikaya River, with a school of Pskov smelt
swimming along.
GREAT NOVGOROD — THE CENTRE OF ENLIGHTENMENT: NOVGOROD
REGION
The Novgorod flowerbed exposition is a hymn to
enlightenment, as Great Novgorod is an ancient centre of literacy and writing,
with birch bark manuscripts being one of the region's symbols. The first one
was found in 1951 at the Nerev excavation site.
At the center of the Novgorod region's landscape
installation is a sculpture that combines two bright and significant symbols in
a single composition. A birch bark scroll, made of metal, bearing texts from
several ancient messages, is featured. Nearby, postal pigeons, which according
to the artist’s idea have just delivered these messages, are perched.
The highlight of the entire composition is the polygonal
shape and coloring of the bird sculptures — unusual and modern, it underscores
the continuity and relevance of traditions in the present and future.
BLOOMING SYMPHONY OF THE SHORES: MOSCOW
The capital's flowerbed exposition invites visitors to
imagine what tomorrow will look like. The Moscow of the future is an oasis of
comfort and eco-friendliness. Here, high-tech infrastructure merges with
cutting-edge standards in education, healthcare, culture and sports.
The main architectural symbols of Moscow are easily
recognizable in the flowerbed. The Lomonosov Moscow State University symbolizes
science and education. The Moscow International Business Center
"Moscow-City" represents economic development, while the Rhythmic
Gymnastics Centre in Luzhniki reminds visitors of the importance of physical
culture and sports. The Moscow Multifunctional Clinical Centre "Kommunarka"
symbolizes healthcare, and the Moscow City Hall signifies modern governance of
the metropolis.
These five architectural symbols of Moscow, framed by
blooming plants, reflect the harmonious union of city and nature. Innovations
and traditions intertwine seamlessly, creating a sustainable and inspiring
urban space where nature and progress blend into a unique place for living and
prosperity.
Along with the RUSSIA EXPO, the flower festival is also coming to an end.
