On the day of mourning, employees of the RUSSIA EXPO expressed their support to the residents of Sevastopol
Employees and guests of the RUSSIA EXPO expressed their
support for the residents of Sevastopol. The day before, the patriotic capital
of Russia was subjected to massive shelling, resulting in civilian casualties.
Today, June 24, mourning for the victims has been declared
in Sevastopol. Despite the fact that Monday is a technical day at the RUSSIA
EXPO, many employees remain at their workplaces to prepare and change
expositions and ensure the operation of pavilions. Employees of the Exposition
Directorate and stand workers could not stay aside and expressed their support
for the residents of Sevastopol.
Another event in support of the residents took place at the
Sevastopol stand the day before. To the sound of a metronome, the guests and
employees of the Exposition observed a minute of silence in memory of the
killed civilians.
As a sign of solidarity and admiration for the courage and
fortitude of Sevastopol residents, the city anthem "Legendary
Sevastopol" and the composition "Cranes" performed by the Military
Band of the Sevastopol Regiment of the Southern Order of Zhukov District of the
National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation were performed at the
Exposition.
"In difficult moments, Sevastopol residents have always
shown cohesion, unity and strength. Sevastopol is grieving. Together with us
all Russia is grieving," said Evgeny Boytsov, Deputy Head of the
Department of Cultural Policy and Art Development of the Department of Culture
of the city of Sevastopol.
On June 23, Sevastopol was subjected to a massive missile
attack that injured 155 people and killed four, including two children,
Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said. Russia's Investigative Committee has
initiated criminal proceedings under the article "terrorist act".
Today, memorial events for the victims are being held in the Hero City.
The International RUSSIA EXPO showcases the most important
achievements of the country in one place. Throughout the Exposition, cultural
events, a rich business and educational program await the guests. The expositions
of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public
organizations are presented to the visitors. The International RUSSIA EXPO
takes place on the territory of VDNH in Moscow till July 8.
The large-scale "Journey Across Russia" project will launch at the National Centre RUSSIA on March 1.
On March 1, the National Centre RUSSIA will launch a new large-scale project, "Journey Across Russia."
From February 21 to 23, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the III International Documentary Film Festival "RT.DOC: The Time of Our Heroes."
