Red Hill festivities were held at the RUSSIA EXPO
A festive
procession with round dances and a "Red Hill" concert evening of
instrumental music took place at the RUSSIA EXPO. The procession, timed to
coincide with the All-Russian Wedding Festival, was attended by artists from
the creative associations "Under the Clouds" and "Evening
Moscow" and guests of the Exposition.
"Red
Hill (Russian name for the Second Sunday of Easter) is a beautiful holiday that
concludes the Easter week. This is the time when wedding season, feasts and
festivities began. Before that the Lent lasted long and it was impossible to
sing and dance roundelays. And Red Hills is round dances, brides' parties, a
series of fun," said a member of the creative association "Under the
Clouds", the organizer of the event Nadezhda Gusarova.
She stated
that from the very opening of the RUSSIA EXPO in the Pavilion "House of
Culture" a lot of creative workshops have been held within the framework
of the Istok project. Istok itself, founded by actress and producer Sofya
Ernst, is a whole ecosystem of projects aimed at supporting and developing
Russian folk culture. For example, at masterclasses, everyone willing learned
how to dance Russian roundelays, ritual songs and dances. Today Istok pupils
also took part in the holiday.
Russian
folk songs "Down the Mother Volga", "Grey Dove", "Ow,
My Field, Near the Valley", dances "Polka Butterfly",
"Timonya" and many others were performed at the Red Hill
festivities.
The
International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country
gathered in one place. Throughout the Exposition, cultural events, a rich
business and educational program await the guests. The expositions of 89
Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public
organizations are presented to the visitors. More than 12 million people have
already visited the Exposition. The International RUSSIA EXPO takes place at
VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to July 8.
The
"Library of the Future" hall features works by science fiction
writers who were ahead of their time in many ways.
On January
14, due to numerous requests from guests, the musical evening "New Year
Windows" was held again.
