On July 7, ahead of the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity and the II All-Russian Wedding Festival "Russia. Uniting Hearts," a special episode of the podcast "Russia Speaks" will be released. The latest instalment of the National Centre RUSSIA’s original series is titled "How Art Teaches to Love" and will focus on the profound and multifaceted feeling that has inspired artists throughout history.

Together with the host of the podcast, Anzhelika Kiryan, the experts will explore how the works of great painters, lines of poetry and actors’ performances influence our perception of love and how people express their feelings in real life.

Guests of this special episode include psychologist and founder of the psychological support service Otvet, as well as host of her own YouTube channel, Veronika Krutilnikova; Deputy Director General of the State Tretyakov Gallery, Darya Parfenenko; Executive Director of the MARS Centre for Contemporary Art, Yelena Davydova; and actor, director, theatre teacher and Director of the Vysotsky House Museum and Centre on Taganka, Nikita Vysotsky.

The key topics include: love as a central theme in painting, literature, cinema, and music; the evolution of its representation from religious symbolism to romantic passion and modern experimentation; cinema and theatre as benchmarks shaping our expectations of relationships; and the role of social media and bloggers in creating the myth of "perfect relationships." The guests will also discuss new forms of expressing love in the digital age.

The original podcast "Russia Speaks" by the National Centre RUSSIA serves as a platform for open dialogue on the future of science and technology, as well as the discussion of topics that concern us all. It features recognised experts, cultural figures, artists, and specialists from various fields.

Previous guests of the podcast have included neurophysiologist Vyacheslav Dubynin, architect Andrei Chernikhov, test cosmonaut Nikolai Chub, stage and screen actor Vladislav Miller, singer Tatyana Kurtukova, and other experts and opinion leaders.

Watch the special episode "How Art Teaches to Love" and other episodes of "Russia Speaks" on russia.ru and the social media pages of the National Centre RUSSIA.
