Department store
The Department Store RUSSIA opened on 4 November 2024 at the National Centre RUSSIA in Moscow. It is a retail space for Russian-made goods that has become part of the legacy of the International RUSSIA EXPO.
The purpose of the Department Store is to preserve and develop traditional folk arts and crafts, to support and promote regional artisans, artists and designers, and to popularise image items and products of the creative industries.
The Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA is a venue for presenting the best Russian brands and practices; it is an exposition of achievements that also gives visitors the opportunity to purchase the items they like.
The store is organised into five thematic sections:
Grocery — offering delicacies and teas from the country’s regions;
Accessories — featuring designer jewellery and wardrobe items created by contemporary designers;
Folk Crafts and Trades — showcasing items that embody the "cultural code" of a particular region, with traditions and skills passed down through generations;
Cosmetics — presenting unique products developed by Russian manufacturers using natural ingredients;
House and Interior — where visitors will find interior items, textiles and tableware created by contemporary designers inspired by Russia’s rich cultural legacy. Unique decor elements here add individuality and warmth to any home.
The conceptual centre of the Department Store is a special collection with quotes from the President of the Russian Federation and the branding of the National Centre RUSSIA.
The Department Store aims not only to familiarise visitors with the diversity of Russian goods but also to create an atmosphere of inspiration and beauty. To achieve this, the National Centre team works on special seasonal collections. Every detail — from the colour palette and lighting to the arrangement of products — is aligned with the season’s overall concept. The space transforms to immerse visitors in a special atmosphere reflecting the time of year or an upcoming holiday.
