How young people from different countries see the future: the National Centre RUSSIA launches survey at the International Festival of Youth
The National Centre RUSSIA and the International Festival of Youth — 2026 in Yekaterinburg have launched a survey about the kind of world new generations dream of living in. The survey is being conducted in Russian and English from 13 to 17 September ahead of the III International Symposium "Inventing the Future", which will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA on 12–13 November.
IFY-2026 has brought together young people from more than 190 countries, and all of them can take part in the survey to share their views on what they imagine the future of the world will look like, what is important to preserve in the decades ahead and how people's lives can be improved. They will also answer questions about what they believe young people from different countries have in common and which values they consider shared by their countries and Russia.
The survey will give active young people an opportunity to contribute to shaping the global future. To take part, participants need to find the QR code on the multimedia screens at the International Festival of Youth venue and follow the link. The survey can also be completed at the National Centre RUSSIA stand, located in the centre of the "Cultural Code" thematic space (Yekaterinburg-EXPO, Pavilion No. 2).
The conclusions drawn from the discussions, along with the results of the survey "What Do You Want the World of the Future to Look Like?", will be used in the work of the III International Symposium "Inventing the Future".
The National Centre RUSSIA is taking part in the International Festival of Youth for the first time. At its stand, it invites young people from different countries to try traditional crafts, discover unique products from across Russia, join colourful flash mobs and discuss visions of the future as part of the Open Dialogue led on 15 September by Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of Russia. The dialogue will be followed by an informal conversation about the future, "OD CAMPFIRE: Youth Meeting".
The creative workshops are held at the National Centre RUSSIA stand in the very centre of the "Cultural Code" thematic space.
A special series of nevalyashkas (roly-poly toys) in the form of Cheburashka was created specially for the International Festival of Youth — 2026 in Yekaterinburg.
Guests are already discovering Russian brands, trying their hand at making items themselves and becoming part of the large-scale "Nevalyashki" installation.
