The RUSSIA EXPO held an award ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian University Science Relay Race competition as part of the Health Day. Young scientists who are involved in the creation of high-tech products in medicine take part in it. The project was initiated by the council of rectors of medical universities 10 years ago to support young promising scientists, said Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko.

"The developments have passed a thorough selection - the scientists have reached the awarding stage. I wholeheartedly thank everyone who took part in the competition, those who reviewed the works. And, of course, a word of thanks to the winners and their mentors. A number of developments, which are presented by our contestants, are really on the cutting edge of science - everything that academicians, scientists, heads of institutions were talking about, in fact, is picked up and created by these young talented people," said Mikhail Murashko.

The University Science Relay Race project is interesting because it unites practically all medical universities of Russia, noted Pyotr Glybochko, Rector of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia. The summing up of the contest results is traditionally timed to coincide with the Day of Russian Science, which is celebrated on February 8.

"I am sure that the winners of the contest are the people who will promote new technologies not only in healthcare. They are our stronghold. Tomorrow they will come to our universities - someone will defend a PhD, doctoral thesis, someone will become head of department, become corresponding members, then academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This is our strength," emphasized Pyotr Glybochko.

The awarding ceremony was timed to coincide with the Health Day at the RUSSIA EXPO - it was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. Its program included profile expert panels, masterclasses, lectures and much more.
