What the participants of the "Knowledge" Society marathon are talking about

An educational program has been launched at the International RUSSIA EXPO. Participants of the federal educational marathon "Knowledge.First" of the Russian Society "Knowledge" discuss culture, national diversity, ecology, volunteering, heroism of compatriots, science, economic and technological independence of Russia and many other topics. The marathon program includes six tracks: "Knowledge.Motherland", "Knowledge.Society", "Knowledge.Power", "Knowledge.Sovereignty", "Knowledge.Innovation" and "Knowledge.Me".

Just on the first day of the marathon the speeches of 67 lecturers were seen and heard by more than 5000 visitors to the exposition, more than 50 million views were accumulated by the broadcasts on the Internet. The marathon «Knowledge.First» is held for three days.

The main venue of the «Knowledge.First» marathon on November 4 was Pavilion No. 57, where prominent statesmen, heads of state corporations, and Heroes of Russia spoke for Russian schoolchildren and students as part of the «Knowledge.Power» track: they shared their views on the country’s development.

Maxim Oreshkin, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, dedicated his speech to Russia’s national achievements in the XXI century and reminded that it was thanks to breakthrough research in medicine that Russia became the first country in the world to develop a vaccine against coronavirus infection.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin noted in his speech that despite the pandemic, sanctions and other difficulties, the construction industry in Russia has been growing steadily over the past three years. The speech of Dmitry Peskov, Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation — Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, attracted a particular interest among young people. He emphasized how to distinguish false information from truth in the political sphere: about the expansion of NATO, about the events of 2014 in Ukraine and Donbass, about the explosion on the "North Stream" and other facts.

The executive director of the State Corporation for Space Activities "Roscosmos", Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Russian Federation, pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR Sergey Krikalyov talked about Russian achievements in the field of cosmonautics — from the first human flight into space to the creation of a new orbital station, where the best practices will be applied. His speech was followed by a direct call to the International Space Station: schoolchildren and students talked live with Oleg Kononenko, Hero of the Russian Federation, pilot-cosmonaut of the Russian Federation, test cosmonauts Nikolai Chub and Konstantin Borisov.

During the educational program of the RUSSIA EXPO on November 5, experts tell guests about the development of Russia’s scientific potential, the contribution of individuals to social development, mentoring and other topics aimed at improving the quality of people’s lives. Among the participants are First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, actors Dmitry Dyuzhev, Sergey Bezrukov and others.

The RUSSIA EXPO is held at VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to April 12.
