How to perform indirect cardiac massage on your pet to keep it alive until the ambulance arrives. This important skill can be taught at the RUSSIA EXPO.

Just imagine the situation - you come home and your favorite dog does not greet you. You look for your pet and are horrified to find that it is lying motionless, and next to it are packs of pills that you forgot to put away in the medicine cabinet. Unfortunately, these situations happen. But if you act with skill, tragedy can be avoided.

"First of all, you need to call the veterinary service. Then make sure that the dog is not breathing: its chest does not rise, air does not come out of the nose. If that's the case, there is no time to waste. It is necessary to resuscitate the animal. Most likely, the dog will not wake up, but due to the fact that the blood will circulate, there will be a chance to wait for specialists and save the pet", - explained the student of the veterinary faculty of Belgorod State Agrarian University Kirill Gai.

To demonstrate resuscitation, the students brought their dog Jerry. The adorable shaggy girl looks just like she is alive. But in fact, Jerry is a veterinary simulator that helps students and visitors to the exposition practice first aid skills.

Jerry's fate leaves no one indifferent, everyone wants to save the dog. That's why volunteers patiently explain how to find the heart, how to put hands correctly and with what force to press - so as not to damage the ribs.

"I was told I did everything right. The most difficult thing is to find the place between the third and fifth rib, you have to feel the ribs very carefully through the thick fur. In general, it's very good and useful that they teach us such things here. I don't have a dog, but I love them very much", - shared her emotions Sonya Borisova, a young participant of the workshop.

It should be reminded that Belgorod region is one of the key agrarian regions of the country, with well-developed agriculture and livestock breeding. On November 28, the agrarian week started at the Belgorod stand. Veterinary students will hold a workshop on saving a dog's life every day.
