Feel Russia: Tourism Day at the RUSSIA EXPO
The
Ministry of Economic Development's "Feel Russia" Pavilion at the
RUSSIA EXPO hosted the opening ceremony of the thematic Tourism Day.
"Today
at the International RUSSIA EXPO we start the thematic days of the National
Achievements Forum. It is a great honor that we start it with the theme of
tourism. Just recently our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said that
Russia has no equal in terms of natural and climatic conditions. This is indeed
true: Russia has all climatic zones. And here, in the Pavilion of the Ministry
of Economic Development, you can see and feel it for yourself. But we realize
that it would be impossible to enjoy all the beauties if it were not for the
"Tourism - Hospitality Industry" National Project, which by order of
the President began its work in 2021, and we are already seeing very
significant results," said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of
the Russian Federation.
Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, noted that a year ago the Government assigned the department with supervising the tourism sphere, and it turned out to be a very successful decision: "This is really a very important branch of the economy with great synergy effects, which involves a dozen other industries. This is a branch of the supply-side economy, as our President said, it is actively developing. It involves very enthusiastic people who love our country".
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure Development Sangadzhi Tarbayev noted that the associations a person has with the word "tourism" in Russia have changed recently: "Now a person does not imagine Turkey and Egypt, but the names "Altai", "Karelia", "Baikal", "Far East" come up. I believe that this is the result of a great and fruitful work not only of the authorities, but also of those who are engaged in tourism today both privately and in the public sense. And they are doing everything to develop tourism within the Russian Federation. We have finally paid attention to our country, to our regions, to our neighbors. Everyone began to feel their identity and to be even more proud of the place where they were born and grew up".
Two weeks
ago, the prospects for the development of sports tourism were discussed at the
exposition, said Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of the Primorye region, Chairman of
the Commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation for Tourism,
Physical Culture and Sports.
"This
is a very interesting direction. But tourism is a very diverse layer of all
kinds of recreation and travel: it is beach tourism, cruise tourism, excursion
tourism, mountain tourism, medical and health tourism, and even pilgrimage
tourism. There is a tourist's choice for every taste. And, of course, the
development of tourism now has received a powerful impetus - it certainly requires
synchronization of actions of business and government at all levels.
Undoubtedly, domestic tourism in Russia has a huge potential," summarized
Oleg Kozhemyako.
The first event to be held at the Russia National Centre, which is being established by the order of President Vladimir Putin, will be the International Science Fiction Symposium and Exhibition "Inventing the Future". The symposium will take place from November 4 to 6.
Tomorrow, the International RUSSIA EXPO will conclude its work. From November 2023 to July 2024, it was visited by more than 18 million guests.
Every day, for eight months, the RUSSIA EXPO delighted guests and gave unforgettable emotions.
