"Primorye Monsoons" to once again "sweep through" Vladivostok with creativity and music

18 to 20 September, the "Primorye Monsoons" Festival will delight
residents and visitors to the Far Eastern capital for the fourth time with a
vibrant array of events showcasing the interweaving of Asian and Russian
traditions. The programme will feature music, sport, gastronomy, tourism and
creativity. Popular Russian singer Vanya Dmitrienko will be one of the
festival's headliners.
"Primorye Monsoons" brings together the strengths of the Primorye
Territory's event calendar, helps to offset seasonality and increases the
Territory's appeal, supporting the objectives of the national project
"Tourism and Hospitality". The festival is organised by the
Government of the Primorye Territory, the Ministry of Tourism of the Primorye
Territory and the regional Tourist Information Centre, Visit Primorye, with the
support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and
the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye Territory.
"This is more than just a festival. It is a major three-day celebration of
Vladivostok that reflects the geography of our region and the character of the
people of Primorye. The festival was established as a city brand of Vladivostok
in 2023. It now brings together 12 festivals. Its guests are people of
different ages, with different interests, from all over Russia. The festival
offers a true picture of how Vladivostok lives at the crossroads of Europe and
Asia," emphasised the Director of the Primorye Tourist Information Centre,
Olga Gurevich.
The Sportivnaya Harbour Embankment will be the festival's main venue. The
gastronomic programme will feature three zones. The first will bring together
the best dishes presented at the region's gastronomic festivals throughout the
year, including dishes made with pollock, strawberries, honey, flounder,
scallops and other local ingredients. The other two zones will showcase the
gastronomic diversity of Asia and Russia. One will offer Russian cuisine,
including pirozhki, pancakes and other treats with a distinctly Russian
character. The other will feature Asian dishes such as sweet-and-sour meat,
pyanse, corn dogs and other delicacies.
Guests can also look forward to numerous creative workshops reflecting Asian
and Russian traditions. These will include lessons in writing Chinese
characters alongside calligraphy classes. Visitors will explore the philosophy
of the Chinese tea ceremony and the ritual of Russian tea drinking with a
samovar. They will learn all the secrets of playing Go, discover how to weave
wreaths from plants and master the basics of calligraphy.
In the tourism zone, tour operators will present excursions and routes across
the Territory, accommodation options at holiday centres and campsites, visits
to national parks and adventure tours. This will help festival guests make
plans for the remaining warm days of autumn and even for the winter holidays.
Music and performances by artists will accompany the entire festive programme.
Local groups will take to the stage. On Saturday evening, Vanya Dmitrienko will
headline the festival. Sunday evening will also offer surprises, with
performances by several more popular bands.
On 19 September, the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye Territory will
become another festival venue, hosting the open lecture programme
"Inventing the Future: Pacific Breakthrough". Experts will discuss
the region's future culture, gastronomy and way of life over the next 50 years.
"Primorye Monsoons" is an annual event and gastronomic festival. It
was first held in 2023 and has welcomed around 135,000 guests over the years.
