Where does the Motherland begin? Take part in the National Centre RUSSIA survey
The Motherland is a word with a sacred meaning for each of us. For some, it begins with the taste of grandmother’s pies, with the family home, where it is always warm and cosy. For others, it begins with their first school assembly, their native language, songs and celebrations that brought everyone together. For others still, the Motherland means endless fields, forests, mountains and rivers.
In the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the National Centre RUSSIA is launching the nationwide survey "Where Does the Motherland Begin?" We invite you to share your view: what does this word mean to you? Together, we can create a single, multifaceted image of the Motherland. You can take part in the survey on our website until 9 June inclusive.
The project unites citizens around shared values and love for the Motherland, and is being implemented jointly with the Government of the Russian Federation and federal executive bodies. It aims to strengthen civic identity, preserve cultural diversity and shape nationwide values through dialogue between generations and regions.
