Business, educational and cultural events of the Arkhangelsk region were held at the International RUSSIA EXPO venues during the Days of the Russian Economy. At the stand of the Pomorie visitors to the VDNH experienced the atmosphere of Arctic expeditions and talked to the participants of these journeys.
Thus, writer and publicist Vladimir Privalov spoke about the polar station Malye Karmakuly, which he visited in 2021 as an environmental volunteer of the "Clean North - Clean Country" project team. The travel notes and photos were used to create a memorable album "New Earth. Malye Karmakuly", which the author presented in Moscow.
Artyom Smolokurov, Technical Director of the Governor's Center "Together We Are Stronger" and Project Manager of the "Clean North - Clean Country" movement, gave a lecture on Arctic research and cleaning by non-profit organizations of Pomorie. He spoke about environmental projects of non-profit organizations and how their results influenced the preservation of unique nature and the development of international cooperation.
"We show the real Arctic with a separate focus on sustainable development and public awareness raising to preserve the unique ecological environment. That is why residents and guests of the capital always get impressed by such presentations," said Artyom Smolokurov.
At the same time in the pavilion dedicated to tourism, a film screening of the documentaries "We are from the Arctic" and "Cleaning the Arctic. Hayes Island" directed by Vera Vakulova and Yuri Tokarev took place.
