The first event of the Russia National Centre will be the International Science Fiction Symposium "Inventing the Future"
The first
event to be held at the Russia National Centre, which is being established by
the order of President Vladimir Putin, will be the International Science
Fiction Symposium and Exhibition "Inventing the Future". The symposium
will take place from November 4 to 6.
The mission
of the event is to rekindle society's interest in the future design industry
through state and business support, by engaging youth in scientific and
technical creativity, in collaboration with science fiction writers and
futurists.
Participants
of the symposium will include scientists and researchers, futurists and
forecasters, science fiction writers and government officials. They will
discuss the consequences of the spread of artificial intelligence, what the
digital state of the future will be like, the role of traditional values in the
context of technological progress, and when humanity will be able to start
exploring other planets.
Previously,
during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, the staff of the RUSSIA EXPO
invited him to the event. "We would very much like to start inventing the
future again as the first project of the National Centre. We would like to
invite you to the International Science Fiction Symposium 'Inventing the
Future'," said Alexander Molchanov, Head of the "Legacy" sector.
The
International RUSSIA EXPO was held from November 4, 2023 to July 8, 2024 by
Presidential Decree. The most important achievements of the country were
gathered on one platform. During the whole time of the Exposition, guests were
welcomed with cultural events, a rich business and educational program. The
visitors were presented expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal
departments, corporations and public organizations.
On July 1,
2024, President Vladimir Putin signed an order to establish the Russia National
Centre to preserve the legacy of the RUSSIA EXPO and demonstrate the country's
achievements on a permanent basis.
The topic of the competition essay should relate to the content of the Expert Report based on the intellectual work of the participants of the II Open Dialogue.
The six most active participating regions also include Moscow, the Moscow Region, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra and the Primorye Territory.
The dolls have been specially produced for the festival and will be presented as commemorative gifts to every couple.
