A meeting with musicians NANSI & SIDOROV held at the National Centre RUSSIA
A meeting
with musicians NANSI & SIDOROV, Anastasia Belyavskaya and Oleg Sidorov, was
held at the National Centre RUSSIA. The married couple, artists, authors of
popular songs and lecturers of the Russian society Znanie were guests of the
All-Russian Youth Forum of Social Calling "Dobrino", where they spoke
with participants about creativity, inspiration, family, working in the media
environment and finding one’s own path.
"Every time we come to a region, we draw energy from people. The most
valuable thing is understanding that people are ready to listen to you
attentively, no matter what mood you arrived in. When you talk to people, it is
as if you become filled up yourself. For me, this is what energises me more
than anything else in the world," Anastasia Belyavskaya noted.
During the meeting, the musicians shared the story of how the duo was created,
spoke about how they came to their stage image and explained why they decided
to reinterpret the famous story of Sid and Nancy.
A large part of the conversation was devoted to music as part of the country’s
cultural code. According to the artists, folk music and the musical traditions
of the peoples of Russia hold a special place in their work.
"Russian folk music and the music of Russia’s small peoples are something
incredible. We love it when it is done tastefully and authentically,"
Nansi and Sidorov noted.
Participants asked the musicians questions about creativity, public life,
finding their own style, working on social media and professional burnout.
Answering a question about what helps them keep moving forward despite a heavy
workload, the musicians admitted that live communication and the opportunity to
share their experience remain their main source of strength.
"An honest dialogue and the ability to talk about anything — work, family,
what is going on inside — are the greatest salvation from any burnout and any
high-functioning depression, which we all experience in one way or
another," Oleg Sidorov said.
During the meeting, the musicians noted that they especially liked the
atmosphere of Khanty-Mansiysk, the openness of the forum participants and the
space of the National Centre RUSSIA. According to them, meetings like this
provide an opportunity for a real conversation and become a source of new
ideas.
The conversation about family sparked great interest among the participants.
Anastasia Belyavskaya and Oleg Sidorov said that their five-year-old daughter
is already involved in the creative process. According to the musicians, while
they were working on a new song, it was she who suggested a melodic line for
the chorus, which they immediately recorded and decided to keep in the demo
version of the composition. At the end of the meeting, the couple performed
this and other well-known songs together with the audience in an acoustic
format.
