The cuisine of the peoples of the country presented at the branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye
Tala dish prepared with pike, Far Eastern cabbage rolls with
crab, and many more dishes were cooked as part of a gastronomic workshop at the
National Centre RUSSIA branch. The event was held on 4 November as part of the
celebrations in honor of National Unity Day.
Chefs from several restaurants in Primorye prepared national
dishes of the peoples of Russia and the Far East, shared their secrets, and
answered questions from the guests. The participants were offered a glimpse of
how Nanai tala with pike, Far Eastern cabbage rolls with crab, Korean-style
pink salmon khe, Russian sochen (a pastry made with crumbly dough and filled
with a sweet cottage cheese) and the Georgian-style khinkali are prepared. Some
guests tried their hand at making khinkali and saw for themselves that it is
not as simple as it seems, and requires skill and practice.
After the workshop, the chefs treated everyone to prepared
treats. Each guest could taste dishes from different nations and get to know
the gastronomic traditions of Russia better.
In addition, guests of the National Centre RUSSIA branch in
Primorye could watch a shamanic rite, performances by Udege dance ensembles,
take part in workshops on making amulets, taste national dishes in the outdoor
area, and treat themselves to pancakes.
