At the branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye, the book "Oar’s Trace" was presented. It is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Primorye Federation of Canoeing and Kayaking. The book was prepared by the publishing house "Russky Ostrov" ("Russian Island") and serves both as a tribute to outstanding athletes and as a step towards promoting the sport among young people.

The presentation brought together renowned athletes, representatives of the regional Ministry of Sport and the sports community. Among the distinguished guests were Yelena Bronnikova, Deputy Chair of the Government of the Primorye Region and Minister of Culture and Archival Affairs; Zhan Kuznetsov, the region’s Minister of Physical Culture and Sport; Alexander Yakovets, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the publishing house "Russky Ostrov"; as well as titled rowers from Primorye — Olympic silver medallist, multiple world and European champion Ivan Shtyl; Olympic bronze medallist Georgy Tsybulnikov; world champion Alexander Artemida; and others.

The book "Oar’s Trace" was more than 15 years in the making. Over this time, unique information, photographs and athletes’ recollections were gathered to trace the Federation’s path from its first steps to today’s victories.

"This is a major effort that tells the story of people who glorified sport in Primorye and brought honour to the whole country," stressed Zhan Kuznetsov.

Minister of Culture and Archival Affairs of the region Yelena Bronnikova noted that the book was published as part of the Governor’s publishing programme. According to her, "Oar’s Trace" will be available to residents in the region’s libraries.

The presentation concluded with a tour of the National Centre RUSSIA in Primorye, where guests were able to see expositions dedicated to the region — its nature, culture, science, education, and future.

We remind you that excursions at the Centre are open to all free of charge.
