Wickerwork products

Basket weaving craft originated within the territory of the present Leningrad region at the end of the 19th century. Local masters used a variety of techniques including those borrowed from Karelians and Finns. Nowadays, the ancient art is being developed by the craftsmen from the LLC "Baltiyskaya loza" located in the village of Peski. They are making baskets, furniture and other products. Dmitry S. Denisov, the director of the company, has written two books on wickerwork: "Petersburg wicker" and "Wickerwork. Russian traditions".
