25 reasons for pride: digital public services — convenience created by the state
Digital public services are not just about technology. They are care, attention, and trust. A state that operates quickly, accurately, and transparently — for the benefit of every citizen.
We continue our special project "25 Reasons for Pride," dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the first inauguration of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. This moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in Russia’s history — a chapter of modernization, technological advancement, and digital sovereignty.
The creation and development of digital public services has transformed the relationship between the citizen and the state.
In 2009, the Gosuslugi portal was launched — a unified digital platform for accessing public services online. Today, around 1,500 federal services are available through the portal and its mobile application.
There are over 112 million active users, and up to 14 million people use the portal daily. Services have become proactive: the state itself offers assistance — for example, the arrangement of payments upon the birth of a child or the assignment of pensions.
The digitalization of public services has helped reduce bureaucracy, increase process transparency, and save millions of hours for both citizens and businesses. Russia is among the global leaders in the development of digital public services and continues to expand their functionality each year.
