Northern Lights greet visitors to the National Centre RUSSIA in Yugra
Last night, the Northern Lights could be seen over
Khanty-Mansiysk. At the National Centre RUSSIA in Yugra, however, visitors can
observe this natural phenomenon every day. Its dynamic imagery is displayed on
large screens in the main hall. This design element has become an integral part
of the Centre’s overall concept.
"We wanted guests to immediately feel the spirit of
Yugra, and the Northern Lights are one of its most vivid symbols. This is our
distinctive feature, which, through modern technology, conveys the deep
connection between people and this land," said Anton Pilipas, Head of the
National Centre RUSSIA in Yugra.
The image of the Northern Lights at the National Centre
refers to the rich cultural heritage of the peoples of the North. There is a
legend associated with this celestial phenomenon about the taming of the first
reindeer. According to the legend, a girl named Vecherina saved a young
reindeer and nursed it back to health. In gratitude, the grown reindeer carried
her into the sky, and the light from their flight became the first Northern
Lights. Today, this story has become an integral part of the space, accessible
to every visitor.
This approach is a natural continuation of the overall
concept of the National Centre RUSSIA in Yugra, which focuses on modern formats
to engage audiences. The National Centre has previously shared information
about interactive installations that are particularly popular with children.
