The history of creation of Belev pastila is connected with the name of Amvrosiy Prokhorov - a merchant from the town of Belev. In 1888, during the drying of a large number of apples, the fruit was overexposed, and they turned into a kind of puree. The merchant decided to experiment and add proteins and sugar to this mass in order not to let the product go to waste. The finished apple dough was dried, then powdered, and that's how the treat came to be.
