World gastronomic record: The largest map of the Tula region made of Belev pastila
Tula
confectioners presented the largest map of the Tula region made of Belev
pastila at the RUSSIA EXPO. This is a real world record.
The
achievement was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the pastila invention.
Previously, the region has already presented its traditions and achievements at
the Exposition - in the House of Russian Cuisine visitors were treated to a
large Tula gingerbread.
"Of
course, we could not ignore another one of our world-famous gastronomic brands -
Belev pastila. Our region is rich and interesting both in terms of gastronomy
and tourism. That is why we decided to make such an unusual map of the Tula
region, thus showing that our region is not only gingerbread and samovar",
- said the head of the project Made in the Tula Region Yulia Shlyakhova.
On the Day of the Tula region the RUSSIA EXPO showcased classic, custard pastila, apple, raspberry, currant and vanilla Belev marshmallow, marmalade flavors Duchesse, Fruit and Berry Assortment, Forest Basket, Cranberry in Sugar.
The history of creation of Belev pastila is connected with the name of Amvrosiy Prokhorov - a merchant from the town of Belev. In 1888, during the drying of a large number of apples, the fruit was overexposed, and they turned into a kind of puree. The merchant decided to experiment and add proteins and sugar to this mass in order not to let the product go to waste. The finished apple dough was dried, then powdered, and that's how the treat came to be.
The large celebratory concert "Our Victory — For All Time" took place at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The "Vehicle for the Front" campaign took place on the territory of the National Centre RUSSIA on May 9.
