VDNH hosted the third award ceremony for the winners of the Knowledge.Award
On February 26, within the framework of the International
RUSSIA EXPO, the third award ceremony of the country's main educational prize
Knowledge.Award - 2023 was held. 29 laureates in 19 nominations were announced.
The ceremony was traditionally attended by prominent government and public
figures, experts and representatives of business, science, culture, art and
media. This year the annual contest received more than 18 thousand applications
from all 89 regions of Russia and 34 foreign countries.
The ceremony was opened by a video message from the
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
"Taking this opportunity, I would like to welcome all
participants of the ceremony of awarding the main prize in the field of
education, and through you - scientists, school teachers and educators,
representatives of business, culture, sports, volunteers. And of course,
veterans and servicemen who devote themselves to mentoring. Once again, I would
like to express my gratitude to all those who take on a responsible and noble
educational mission at the call of their hearts and help to revive the
"Knowledge" Society," Vladimir Putin noted.
The President of the Russian Federation also expressed
confidence that "participants, partners and reliable friends of the
"Knowledge" Society will continue to make a significant contribution
to raising the prestige of educational activities, and thus to strengthening
our state, scientific, technological and, of course, values sovereignty".
The names of the laureates in the main nomination of the
award - "For Overall Contribution to Education" - were announced by
Sergei Kiriyenko, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the
"Knowledge" Society, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential
Executive Office of the Russian Federation. The nationwide historical project
"Faces of Victory" became the educational project of the year, and in
the category "Educator of the Year" two people were recognized as
winners for the first time: war correspondent and journalist Adrian Boke and
Russian crystallographer-theoretician, mineralogist and professor of the
Russian Academy of Sciences Artem Oganov.
"Today, the Russian Society "Knowledge"
stands for 23 thousand lecturers and mentors throughout our vast country. And
it became possible in a very short time - less than three years since our
President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin set the task of reviving the legendary
in the Soviet years "Knowledge" Society. It is very appropriate that
this year the Knowledge.Award is held here, at the RUSSIA EXPO, which is also
held by order and decision of the President, because everything that every
region of our country is proud of, ministries and large companies are proud of,
the whole country is proud of," said Sergei Kiriyenko.
He noted that this year, for the first time, educators from
34 countries participated in the educational award Knowledge.Award. He
emphasized that today in some countries it takes not only professionalism but
also incredible courage to simply tell the truth about Russia.
Viktor Shabelnik, chairman of the Student Coordination
Council of the All-Russian Trade Union of Education, became the best educator
of the year in the special nomination "For Overall Contribution to
Education According to the Audience". Victor carries out educational projects
for students in the sphere of citizenship and mentoring. During the year he
organized 50 district and 15 federal projects, which were attended by more than
78 thousand students. The educator also created a youth travel show "To
Travel for Scholarship", dedicated to students' travels around Russia: 50
episodes have garnered 26.5 million views. The best educational project in the
opinion of Russians was the "Forum of Classroom Teachers" of the
Center for Educational Initiatives of the Ministry of Education of the Russian
Federation. The Forum has formed a proactive community of educators, in which
class teachers become friends with their classes, create local events and
artistic projects, learn together and discuss current issues in the field of
education.
People's vote was traditionally held in a mini-application
in the social network VKontakte: any user could cast their vote for their
favorite educational project or educator from November 30, 2023 to January 14,
2024. More than 120 thousand people took part in the popular vote. It also
named the Educational Company of the Year, which was Rosatom State Corporation.
The awards in the nomination were presented by Maxim Dreval, Director General
of the Society.
Vladimir Medinsky, Aide to the President of the Russian
Federation, doctor of historical sciences, and the nationwide historical
project "Faces of Victory" were recognized as the best in the
nomination "For Contribution to Education in the Field of History".
The awards were presented to the laureates by the Chairman of the Russian
Historical Society Sergei Naryshkin.
Grigory Gurov, Chairman of the Board of the All-Russian
Public State Movement of Children and Youth "Movement of the First",
announced the name of the winner in the nomination "'Choice of the First'
for Contribution to Education by Children's and Teenagers' choice". The
winner was Ulyana Shabanova from Novosibirsk, the author of free drawing
lessons for children. Her classes have already gained more than 20 million
views in 126 countries over the last two years. The winner was chosen by voting
among children and teenagers.
Grigory Gurov also presented an award to the winner of
another Movement of the First partner nomination - "Young Educator of the
Year". The winner was Dmitry Vasetsky from the Sverdlovsk region, the
"Young Ambassador of China in the World" and world champion in
Chinese language skills among schoolchildren up to 14 years old. In less than
two months this new nomination became the most popular among the applicants of
this season and united about 4.5 thousand young popularizers of science,
inventors, journalists, local historians, volunteers and mentors from all 89
regions of Russia.
In the nomination "For Educational Activities at
School" the award was presented by Elena Shmeleva, Head of the Sirius
Educational Center and Chairman of the Council of the Sirius Federal Territory.
The winner in this nomination was Irina Amosova, deputy director for
educational work, elementary school teacher of MEBI SGES No. 18 in Sochi, the
founder of a popular educational blog and author of 45 manuals for elementary
school teachers. Elena Shmeleva also awarded the winner in the nomination
"For Educational Activities in the System of Secondary Vocational
Education" Valentina Zaugolnikova from the Orenburg region. The educator
is the deputy director for educational and methodological work of Novotroitsk
Construction Technical School, the author of a methodology for the development
of social activity of vocational education teachers and programs for the
formation of "soft skills" among adolescents and students.
Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of
the Russian Federation, awarded Edgar Kafarov, head of the department of the A.
A. Kadyrov Chechen State University, doctor of medical sciences, professor, a
laureate in the nomination "For Educational Activities at the
University". Edgar is the author of more than 220 scientific papers in
Russian and international editions, the creator of an educational channel on
YouTube on the discipline of "Human Anatomy", one of the most viewed
by students of medical universities channels of this subject.
The winner in the special nomination "Mentor of the
Year", timed to coincide with the Year of Teacher and Mentor in 2023 in
Russia, was Kirill Sukhov, head of the Russian national mathematics team and
mathematics teacher from St. Petersburg. The award was presented to the winner
by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko
presented awards in the nomination "For Contribution to Education in the Field
of 'Science and Technology'". The winners were Artyom Oganov, professor,
head of the Laboratory of Computer-Aided Material Design at Skoltech, professor
of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the educational project
"NaukaPRO" from the Rostov region, which creates free videos,
podcasts and articles with Russian scientists and recognized experts on a
variety of scientific topics.
Rector of the National Research University Higher School of
Economics Nikita Anisimov congratulated Albert Pavlyuk, associate professor of
the Department of Public Administration at the MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of Russia, candidate of legal sciences, author of the channel "You're
Right!", on winning the nomination "For Contribution to Education in
the Field of Economics, Business and Law". The complex educational project
"No to Scammers" of the Association for the Development of Financial
Literacy, aimed at improving the financial literacy of the population and
fighting against fraudsters in the financial sphere was also recognized as the
best in the same nomination.
The winners of the nomination "For Contribution to
Education in the Field of Sport and Healthy Lifestyle" were Nikolay
Osipov, president of the Media Football League, and the International
Multisport Tournament "Games of the Future". Minister of Health of
the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko awarded and congratulated the
participants with the victory.
The award winners in the nomination "For Contribution
to Education in the Field of 'International Relations'" were Vladimir
Gudkov, director of the Russian-Tajik State Budgetary General Educational
Institution "Secondary General Education School with Advanced Study of Individual
Subjects in Dushanbe named after Y.A. Gagarin" and the International Team
of Victory Volunteers, whose participants in game and interactive formats
acquaint foreign schoolchildren and students with the Russian language and
culture, as well as improve literacy and popularize the Russian language and
culture. Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian
Federation, presented the award to the laureates.
Dmitry Peskov, Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive
Office — Press Secretary to the President of the Russian Federation, announced
the winner in the new award nomination of the "Foreign Educator of the
Year". The commemorative cube was given to the war correspondent,
journalist Adrian Boke, who for the last year and a half, risking his life on
the front line, has been covering and documenting events in Donbass, telling
the truth and helping the children of Donbass.
Semyon Pegov, journalist, war correspondent, founder of the
WarGonzo project, and the All-Russian patriotic campaign "Snow Landing of
the Russian Student Squads" were recognized as the best in the nomination
"For Contribution to Education in the 'We are Together' Field", which
is awarded for educational activities in the sphere of charity, patriotism,
environmental and moral education. The prizes were presented to the winners by
Anna Tsivileva, Chairman of the State Fund for Support of Participants of the
Special Military Operation "Defenders of the Fatherland".
Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova
announced the names of the winners of the nomination "For Contribution to
Education in the 'Culture and Art' Field". They were the Artist of the
Moscow SBIC theater "Moscow State Theater 'Lenkom of Mark Zakharov'"
Anton Shagin and the educational video project "Cultural Minimum" of
the media group "Komsomolskaya Pravda".
"The Best Educational Book" was a series of books
on engineering education "School of Young Engineer" and "Become
an Engineer", which opens the fascinating world of engineering art for children.
The award was presented to the author by Natalia Tretiak, Director General of
"Prosveshcheniye" JSC.
"The Best Educational Film" was the film
"Nuremberg", which shows viewers reliable information about the
decisive contribution of the USSR to the defeat of fascism during the Great
Patriotic War, as well as tells about the preparation and carrying out of the
Nuremberg process. The award was presented by Alexei Goreslavsky, Director
General of the ANO "Internet Development Institute".
In total, about 18 thousand applications were submitted for
the Award in the third season from all 89 regions of Russia, including the
Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. In the
third season the award became international — applications were received from
34 countries - representatives of not only neighboring but also far abroad:
Europe, North and Latin America, Africa. 97 nominees were selected by the
Expert Council, which consisted of more than 100 authoritative specialists and
professionals in various fields.
The names of the winners in 15 nominations were determined
by the results of the in-person meeting of the Honorary Jury of the Award,
which took place on November 23 within the framework of the International
RUSSIA EXPO.
The Award is supported by the general information partner — the Russian news agency TASS; the multimedia information partner — the
Komsomolskaya Pravda media group, as well as the project's information
partners: the business publication Vedomosti, the Rambler&Co media holding,

The final session of the Open Dialogue "Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth" took place at the National Centre RUSSIA on the closing day, April 30.
