The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates the residents of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area on Region Day
Yamal is
not only a land of vast natural wealth, where oil and gas are extracted. It is
a land where the centuries-old traditions of the indigenous peoples of the
North coexist with cutting-edge technologies. It is a region of harsh natural
conditions, yet home to kind and compassionate people whom the entire country
congratulates on the anniversary of their region.
The
Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area was established on 10 December 1930. According to
the Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, Dmitry Artyukhov, over its
95 years Yamal has travelled a remarkable path, and at every turn history was
being made and the great future of the northern region was taking shape.
"From
the pioneers’ tents to the bright lights of modern cities. From the labour feat
on the home front during the Great Patriotic War to world-class industrial
achievements at our fields. From the first geological surveys to becoming the
energy heart of Russia. These are not separate stories. This is a shared
chronicle of the courage and hard work of our people, their devotion to their
native land. The great history and the present of Yamal drew the attention of
thousands of Russians during the RUSSIA EXPO," said Dmitry Artyukhov in a
comment to the Press Office of the National Centre RUSSIA.
He added
that on the strong foundation laid by their predecessors, the region’s
residents continue to build a new Yamal. New neighbourhoods, hospitals,
kindergartens and schools are being created.
"We
are creating ever more opportunities for families, children and young people — for everyone who calls our harsh land their home. And this is the result of the
daily work of the people of Yamal. Ahead of us lie many achievements, projects
and victories," added Dmitry Artyukhov.
The
National Centre RUSSIA invites everyone interested in the history, culture and
natural legacy of Yamal to visit the "Journey Across Russia"
exposition. Visitors can discover what defines and distinguishes the
Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area and other regions of the Ural Federal District,
as well as the country as a whole.
Participants of the first intake of this new educational project, who successfully passed the competitive selection process, shared their stories of discovering the School and their fresh impressions from the classes.
The date was chosen for a reason: it was on 2 March 2018 that the decree establishing the "For Mentorship" award was signed.
