The global economy is currently undergoing a transformation: states are becoming part of global platforms, and control over financial infrastructure is gaining decisive importance. Rais Hussin, CEO of EMIR Research, spoke about this in the new episode of the podcast "OD on Air" with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of Russia, Maxim Oreshkin. The video is already available on the website of the National Centre RUSSIA.

"Platforms are no longer simply applications. They have become critically important infrastructure that influences imports, exports, the trade balance, exchange rates and other economic processes. They are significant but require reasonable regulation: freedom of trade must be combined with compliance with legislation. Platforms should be regarded as key infrastructure, given their tangible influence on the economy, rather than ignored," noted Rais Hussin.

During the podcast, Rais Hussin and Maxim Oreshkin discussed key issues shaping the modern world. They addressed the platformisation of the global economy and the importance of financial sovereignty. Particular attention was given to the regulation of major digital services and the introduction of mutual credit clearing systems. The conversation also touched on the influence of artificial intelligence on education and business.

"We live in an interconnected world, and maintaining high rates of development requires cooperation based on balanced and fair principles for all. Endless extraction of resources and exploitation are impossible. Mutual respect is extremely important. My main message is: embrace technology, do not reject it, because artificial intelligence is not going anywhere — it has already become indispensable," said Rais Hussin.

CEO of EMIR Research Rais Hussin also delivered a lecture at the National Centre RUSSIA during the January Expert Dialogues. He spoke about the platformisation of the global economy and the role of countries in creating their own technological and financial platforms. The expert emphasised that the future belongs to those who are able to design their own standards, develop critical thinking and actively participate in shaping global platform ecosystems.

The January Expert Dialogues are part of the "Open Dialogue" series of events. The initiative was launched by the National Centre RUSSIA in partnership with the Centre for Cross-Industry Expertise "Third Rome" with the support of the Presidential Executive Office of Russia.

Lectures by international speakers presented during the January Expert Dialogues can be viewed on the official website of the National Centre RUSSIA in the "Livestreams and Videos" section.
