The new season of the "ATOM Children's Academy" was officially launched at the RUSSIA EXPO
A solemn
ceremony of launching the new season of the "ATOM Children's Academy"
project took place in the ATOM Pavilion. Schoolchildren aged 10-12 are expected
to attend free scientific and educational classes in chemistry, physics,
biology, geography and mathematics. The children will conduct research and
experiments, as well as participate in thematic competitive activities.
"We
created our project in close cooperation with our colleagues from the federal
center for supplementary education, who are here today. "ATOM Children's
Academy" is a complex of scientific and educational classes in the
subjects of the natural science cycle: mathematics, geography, biology,
chemistry, physics. For us, the "ATOM Children's Academy" is an opportunity
to develop children's interest in studying science, to let them immerse
themselves in the world of natural science disciplines, and to develop their
curiosity through research activities in our Pavilion. We want to show that
science is not boring," said Suren Katurkin, manager of educational
projects and programs of the "ATOM Children's Academy".
Throughout April, a series of free scientific and educational classes in chemistry, physics, biology, geography and mathematics will be held for the project participants. The classes will be held in cycles for the chosen discipline: that means that by registering, a schoolchild sends an application for participation not in one, but in all eight lessons in the subject.
Classes will begin on April 2 and end on April 27. There will be eight classes in each subject - two per week. Classes will meet every day Tuesday through Saturday for four consecutive weeks. On Sundays, the academy students will have thematic competitive activities: laboratory experiments speed contests, science quizzes, board games and much more. On April 28, at the closing ceremony, the project participants who have completed the full course in the chosen subject will be awarded.
During the all-Russian survey "What does the Motherland begin with?", people across the country are answering this question in their own way, opening up the innermost corners of their souls.
Souvenir nevalyashkas (traditional Russian roly-poly dolls), are attracting particular attention, with guests choosing them for their harmonious combination of Russian colour and traditional Chinese symbols.
Under the guidance of artisans, each guest made an unusual souvenir that can become either a personal talisman or a gift with a special story.
