A large-scale presentation of the thematic gastronomic pollock festival "O!Mega Taste" was held on May 16 at the National Centre RUSSIA. Guests of the Gastronomic Rows of the National Centre RUSSIA learned about the benefits of this important commercial resource of the country, attended culinary workshops and tasted pollock dishes included in the menu of the Gastronomic Rows of the National Centre RUSSIA.

"At the National Centre RUSSIA, we collect an extensive library of domestic products, wild plants, regional gastronomy, national dishes from all over the country that we are proud of. The opportunity to try unique regional products and specialties directly in the place where they are grown is an integral part of travel. A series of festivals dedicated to the achievements of Russian agriculture, extraction, processing and production of Russian food products will start on May 16 and 17", said the expert of the project "Journey Across Russia. Food" of the National Centre RUSSIA, author and head of the federal project "Gastronomic Map of Russia" Yekaterina Shapovalova.

The pollock festival "O!Mega Taste" was born in Vladivostok and will be held this year for the third time. At the National Centre RUSSIA, the project was presented by its organisers and partners. The main idea of the festival is to return pollock to the consumption culture of Russians of all ages.

"This unique initiative is already yielding results. We see how the consumption of pollock and fish consumption in general is growing, and this is very important for the implementation of national projects aimed, among other things, at demography and the health of the nation. Because without quality protein contained in fish, it is impossible to raise a healthy generation", said Deputy Head of Roskachestvo Olga Shanayeva.

For the guests of the National Centre RUSSIA, numerous workshops and tastings were held. Visitors learned that pollock should not only be properly selected and cooked, but also properly eaten. In the space of the Gastronomic Rows of the National Centre RUSSIA, they were able to try cutlets and filled pollock, sugudai with pollock roe, as well as the intricate fish soup "From the Far East to the Arctic," which, along with Far Eastern pollock, included Murmansk cod, sockeye salmon, Commander squid, Magadan shrimp, Kamchatka crab and kelp.

"The festival is launching for the third time, and it is especially pleasant that this is happening at the National Centre RUSSIA. This, in my opinion, is one of the most important indicators that it is becoming truly nationwide, all-Russian," noted Alexei Merkulov, Communications Director of the Russian Fishery Company.

A series of culinary classes were conducted by Andrei Vinogradov, chef of the gastronomic rows "North", dynasty cook, founder of the Far Eastern cuisine production "Kamchatka House," brand chef of the gastronomic space "East" Svetlana Bokova and chef of the chain of shops and production of fish delicacies "ABC of the North" Sergei Fedoseyev.
