An open dialogue was held during the forum "Together We Will Prevail" at the National Centre RUSSIA. The discussion brought together veterans of the special military operation, public figures and young people to explore the unbroken line of heroism in the history of our country. Participants discussed how the courage of past generations inspires today’s defenders, the preservation of national memory, patriotic education and the role of each individual in strengthening the unity of the country. The speaker of the event was journalist and television presenter Vladimir Solovyov. The business programme of the forum was organised by the Russian society Znanie.

At the very beginning of his address, Vladimir Solovyov emphasised that speaking about heroism is difficult because its essence cannot be conveyed in words: "Heroism is not the dazzling deeds described in books. At the front you simply fight, day after day. You never know for which day you will be praised or reprimanded."

The hall was filled with veterans of the special military operation. Vladimir Solovyov thanked them for their heroism and courage.

"Russian land exists only thanks to people like you. Every generation of Russian people brings forth heroes, perhaps because they live in unity with the land. <...> There are hundreds of thousands of you – Russian soldiers. You are the pride of your peoples: Kalmyks, Russians, Kalmyks, Dagestanis, Tatars, Mordvins, Ukrainians, Jews, Armenians, Azerbaijanis… All together you are the great Russian soldier," Vladimir Solovyov underlined.

He noted that everyone who has taken part in combat has their own experience and their own service, but all are united by an understanding of their purpose. According to him, justice may not always be present, but the understanding of why a person is there never disappears.

"You must not hide your awards and your wounds. The people bestowed your awards upon you, and the people love you. You are the pride of our nation, the future of our nation. You are the foundation on which a new Russia is being built. Russia has chosen its path – the path of service. Russia is the ark of modernity, for it is here that the values on which humanity depends remain alive, and through your deeds you have returned our Motherland to the right path. Your awards must be on your chest, and people must know why you received them and at what cost," said Vladimir Solovyov.

He added that a man is made for battle, and a Russian is made for victory, stressing that this is what distinguishes Russians from all others. Russia always triumphs, and the ability to win battles is its inherent quality, he said. Vladimir Solovyov added that after victory it is essential to use the results for the glory and prosperity of the Motherland.
