"Such an educational miracle should be shown to children": impressions of the participants of the All-Russian Parents’ Meeting about "Journey Across Russia"
The XII All-Russian Parents’ Meeting, held on 26 August at the National Centre RUSSIA, brought together teachers and parents from different parts of the country. Before the start of the event, the guests visited the exposition "Journey Across Russia", where they were able to discover the cultural legacy, modern achievements and unique landmarks of all the federal districts. The participants unanimously noted that the exposition became a real revelation even for those who know the country well.
Geography teacher Yelena Golovanova from the town of Shumerlya highlighted the high educational value of the exposition:
"I am delighted, and I realised that there is a wonderful place in Moscow where children can cover the whole geography of Russia from the eighth- and ninth-grade curriculum and remember it for life in just an hour and a half. I have already decided that we will definitely come here with the whole class, register on the website for an educational tour. And if we are lucky to have our wonderful guide again, we will be doubly happy," promised the guest from Chuvashia.
The participants of the All-Russian Parents’ Meeting were surprised that in such a short time they managed to cover the whole country at the exposition.
"We had a short tour — only 30 minutes. But in those 30 minutes we went through the entire exposition. It is very impressive, from Kamchatka to the palaces of St Petersburg. The Crimean Bridge, Innopolis, modern achievements and much more can be seen inside the National Centre RUSSIA. And, you know, I realised that it is necessary to bring our children here and in this way introduce them to the geography, development and history of our country. This will help them see how interesting and diverse Russia is and feel proud of our country," said Tatyana Kumchenko from the Voronezh region.
The multisensory experience and relevance of the exposition for representatives of different generations was noted by a guest from the Republic of Mordovia, member of the All-Russian Parents’ Council under the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Natalia Vasenina.
"Everything is very interesting and modern. Now I want to come back and see it all again with my family. After all, here is the history and culture of our people — the whole of Russia in full. You can get acquainted with the traditions and opportunities of our great country. Each region is fascinating: North Ossetia, Vladivostok. Sounds, special effects, aromas and much more. Real magic, it is as if we were in a fairy tale," shared Natalia Vasenina, who came to the capital from Saransk.
The clarity and interactivity of the exposition, as well as the professionalism of the guides, was emphasised by Dmitry Adayev from Tula.
"There are many interactive zones that just draw you in to touch, explore and examine more closely. The exposition will also be interesting from an educational point of view, because you can see the whole country not just through a screen but thanks, among other things, to such zones where everything is so three-dimensional and engaging. In addition, all this is accompanied by the stories of a live guide who is also deeply engaged in the content of the exposition. And although we rushed through the exposition in an express tour, we still got a rather large and complete impression that we will be reflecting on for a long time," said Dmitry Adaev.
Young visitors were also impressed. Ksyusha from Moscow shared her emotions: "It is interesting and nice here, and what I liked most of all was everything. I touched a lot, smelled things, and drove a KAMAZ truck."
The exposition "Journey Across Russia" proved that exploring the country can be both educational and truly exciting. The guests unanimously recommended the exposition for family visits and school tours, noting its role in fostering patriotism and interest in studying one’s homeland.
A key task facing the higher education system is to train not just professionals, but professional patriots — citizens with an active civic stance.
