Birch bark souvenirs

Vladimir Antipenko, the People’s Master of the Irkutsk region, creates unique works out of birch bark. He practices one of the most complicated ancient techniques of making vessels from "skolotnya" or "skolot" (birch bark cylinder that is taken off the tree without cutting). He decorates his products with multi-layered ornaments of carved birch bark, using unusual combinations of natural tones of wood — from dark gray and brown to light. One of the highpoints of his assortment are hand-carved panels. The master creates all products by pre-order.
