Products from monastic workshops

Women's monasteries have long been centres of various folk arts and crafts. In addition to icons and church furnishings, they produced interior decorations and works of decorative and applied art. The women's monastery in Solba continues these longstanding traditions. The monastery has five craft workshops: ceramics, embroidery, sewing, gingerbread-making, and soap and natural cosmetics. In 2023, Solba ceramics was granted the status of a traditional folk art craft of the Yaroslavl Region. The embroidery workshop produces unique monastic handicrafts. The nuns make Christmas tree decorations, shawls, icons and cushions. Their creations are embellished with hand embroidery using beads, pearls and decorative cord.
