A resident of Tyumen, Yana Poslavskaya, visited the National Centre RUSSIA in Khanty-Mansiysk together with her eight-month-old daughter Veronika. It was the girl’s first major trip. Getting acquainted with Yugra at the National Centre was comfortable for both mother and child.

"This is the first place we have visited that is so rich in sound and light. It is important to note that the expositions use calm colours. The lighting is not too bright, nothing dazzles. The child was not frightened even once. The guide could be heard clearly, and at the same time there were no harsh or loud sounds, which is very important for us," shared Veronika’s mother, Yana Poslavskaya.

The interactive elements of the exposition attracted particular interest from visitors. For example, in the hall "Pride Through Time", the family took photographs against a wall dedicated to outstanding figures of the region.

"I liked the hall that talked about nature. You can explore the displays both through touch and through smell. And of course, the story of the discovery of oil is presented very well. This is the first time I have encountered a place where you can actually touch oil. I have never seen anything like this anywhere else," Yana added.

The National Centre RUSSIA is a place that can and should be visited with children. Many displays can be touched, and some can even be smelled. Children can jump on the "swamp trampoline", operate a drilling rig, and try other interactive formats.

"Such centres are important for our children. They help them learn about the culture and history of their home region and the entire country. They teach children to take pride in their homeland and to love it," Yana Poslavskaya believes.
