The National Centre RUSSIA will be closed to visitors on 22 December
There will be one maintenance day at the National Centre RUSSIA in the coming week — on 22 December. The venue will reopen to visitors on Tuesday, 23 December.
On this day, the team will focus on an important task: making each visit as comfortable, safe, and memorable as possible. Specialists will inspect equipment, update expositions, and carry out scheduled maintenance of all interactive and visitor areas.
Please plan your visit to the National Centre RUSSIA in advance.
Opening hours for the coming week:
— 22 December — maintenance day;
— From 23 December, the National Centre RUSSIA will reopen to visitors under its regular schedule, from 10:00 to 20:00.
Guests are invited to discover new facets of Russia. At the exposition "Journey Across Russia", visitors can explore the history and landmarks of all federal districts, sample the best regional cuisine at the Gastronomic Rows, and gain a wealth of useful knowledge and memorable impressions.
Visitors are also invited to the new journey-style exposition "Book of Fairy Tales", which will run at the National Centre RUSSIA until 1 March. The exposition is dedicated to the legends, crafts, and fairy-tale archetypes of Russian folk culture. Through an "open book" of regions, visitors enter the Library — the Firebird Treasury — a space of rare wonders featuring museum and craft items from participating regions, gathered as curiosities from its symbolic collection.
From the Treasury, the journey continues into a winter fairy-tale forest of Russia’s regions, where each "page" unfolds as a story about the land, its people, and traditions. Eight participating regions — the Vologda region, the Stavropol region, the Ryazan region, the Republic of Mordovia, Karelia, the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, the Republic of Komi, and the Kaliningrad region — come together to create a living map of the country and its winter legends.
Participants discussed the contribution of regional authors and small publishing houses to Russian science and shared their experience of engaging with non-fiction literature.
Guests of the National Centre RUSSIA took part in a workshop on festive table setting in the "a la russe" style.
While preparing for their debut, the children did not simply memorise texts, but also learned how to bring them to life and find their own individual style.
