25 reasons for pride: cable car connecting Russia and China

25 reasons for pride: cable car connecting Russia and China

This is not just a means of transport, but an aerial symbol of trust and friendship between nations, yet another proof that we know how to build the future with our own hands — quickly, beautifully, and right on time.

We continue publishing our special project "25 Reasons for Pride," dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the first inauguration of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. One of these reasons is the construction of the cable car across the border river Amur, connecting Russia and China.

The cable car between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe is a unique cross-border project with no analogues in the world. Its capacity reaches up to 1,788 people per hour in one direction. The cable car will operate according to the pendulum principle: two parallel lines — two cabins.

Travel time will be about 6 minutes. No traffic jams, no queues — only pure energy of movement. On the Russian side, a modern four-level passenger terminal is being built.

The achievement was made possible thanks to:

— the strategic partnership between Russia and China, which is advancing not in words but through concrete infrastructure solutions;

— the involvement of leading Russian engineers, designers, and builders who applied cutting-edge technologies under challenging climate conditions and in the context of the border location;

— full support at the federal and regional levels, the engagement of the Amur Region and Far Eastern development institutions.
